Lifelines Poetry Home

Henry Bacha

Writing has been a passion of mine throughout my life, both fiction and non-fiction. I have yet to uncover another medium so conducive to self-expression, another outlet so well suited to my creative fire. In addition to writing for classes, I have found unique opportunities for my creative expression – poetry, writing articles and reviews for my school newspaper, lyrics for songs performed by my rock band, SALT, and playwriting.

One of my favorite forms of written expression is poetry, which I started writing in middle school.  Fortunately I have been able to hone my poetry skills inside and outside of the classroom. During my junior year, while I was taking a poetry class, my teachers selected me to attend the Wellspring of Imagination 2013 Poetry Workshop, where I wrote and read my poetry alongside aspiring and professional poets, and where I had long stretches of time to hone my craft without interruptions from the outside world.

What I learned from this experience and my class at school is that when it comes to poetry, much can be gained by collaboration and sharing insights with like-minded people. So I decided to create this website as a workshop to share my work with others and, hopefully, for others to share their thoughts and work with me. I look forward to connecting with others, who share my passion for the written word, through this online forum.
